ASIFA India Announces New Core Committee for 2025–28

ASIFA India, the country’s leading non-profit body promoting Animation, VFX, Gaming, and XR, has reconstituted its core committee for 2025–28. The announcement comes as the organisation celebrates its 25th anniversary, alongside ASIFA International’s 65th year.

Celebrating 25 Years of Creativity and Growth

Founded in 2000, ASIFA India has been instrumental in building India’s creative ecosystem, connecting artists, studios, and students through workshops, awards, and training programs. This year marks a major milestone as the organisation completes 25 years of community-building, coinciding with nationwide celebrations of International Animation Day (IAD) 2025 across more than 15 cities.

The flagship IAD event will be held on 27 October 2025 at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, followed by regional events in Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Indore, and Bhopal.
Each celebration will include:

  • Masterclasses and behind-the-scenes sessions

  • Workshops on animation and VFX

  • Women-in-Media mixers promoting inclusion in the creative industry

All sessions are open and free to the public.

Awards of Excellence and Global Collaborations

ASIFA India recently wrapped up entries for its 25th Annual Awards of Excellence, reviewed by an international jury featuring experts from DreamWorks (USA), Singapore, and India. The awards, supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, are part of the WAVES – Create in India Challenge, which received strong global participation from animation professionals and students.

These initiatives reflect India’s growing recognition as a global hub for animation and digital storytelling. ASIFA India also continues its partnership with Epic Games through the Women Creators Program, helping women professionals upskill in Unreal Engine and interactive media.
