In a landmark moment for Indian animation, the much-anticipated Namaste MIFA initiative is set to make a powerful return at the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) 2025, with a fresh showcase of homegrown talent and culturally rich storytelling.

Spearheaded by AniMela, in partnership with the Annecy Festival and supported by entities like the French Institute in India, Assemblage Entertainment, and Zebu Animation Studios, this showcase is more than just a pitch session—it’s a global stage for Indian animation creators to bring their visions to life.

Six standout projects from eight Indian creators have been selected through a rigorous mentoring process as part of the International MIFA Campus (IMC) held at IDC, IIT Bombay. These projects uniquely blend Indian narratives with modern formats, focusing on originality, culture, and artistic innovation.

The final showcase—Namaste MIFA Pitch Session—will take place on June 11, 2025, at the Impérial Palace, Annecy. This session offers the selected creators a golden opportunity to present their work to an international panel of producers, studios, and investors, potentially opening doors to global collaborations and co-productions.

Renowned mentors such as Delphine Farhi Nicolini, Johanna Goldschmidt, and Reza Riahi have played a pivotal role in refining the pitches to meet global standards, ensuring each story resonates beyond borders while retaining its Indian essence.

What makes Namaste MIFA significant is not just its presence on the world stage, but its clear intent: to position India as a serious creative powerhouse in the animation industry. The initiative echoes the growing global recognition of Indian content and the potential of its creators.

With robust mentorship, institutional backing, and international exposure, Namaste MIFA 2025 is a leap forward in building India’s animation identity. It stands as a testament to what’s possible when storytelling meets opportunity—and India is ready to tell its stories to the world.
